Georgia Tech is now at 19 commits before the start of the season with Ruskin, FL-native offensive lineman Michael Rankins announcing his commitment in a video posted by his high school coach!

Rankins stands at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds and is rated as a three-star recruit by both Rivals (5.7) and the 247 Sports Composite (0.8789). He committed to Tech over other reported offers from Auburn, Florida State, and Minnesota (one of these is not like the others).
Rankins, who primarily plays right tackle in his film, brings really great length to the tackle position. He was blessed with long arms. He does a good job of overpowering defenders in run blocking. As a pass blocker, he is decent, but there is room for improvement. One thing that stood out to me, was his first step seemed a little inconsistent. Sometimes it was right on the money, but there were a couple plays he was half a step late. I feel like this is something that can easily be worked on. Overall, I really like this addition. He is the third offensive tackle to commit in this class.
