After nearly a month of silence in terms of Georgia Tech recruiting, the Yellow Jackets have made some news, with Tony Amerson committing to Georgia Tech, via Twitter.

Amerson, who is listed as a three-star recruit by Rivals (5.7) and the 247Sports Composite (0.8588), will join the Yellow Jackets from St. James High School in Montgomery, Alabama. Montgomery stands at 5-11, 212 pounds.
Film
Amerson had a very good junior season, rushing for 1,686 yards and 28 touchdowns. Watching his film, Amerson looks to be a solid pick-up that will need to work a good bit before he sees the field. He is a very upright runner and is not super quick on his feet. Traditionally, Tech’s better B-backs have been better about getting low.
He did a good job of getting into the open field, but he really lacks the true breakaway speed to be a homerun threat. He could definitely be a good fit in more goal line or short yardage situations. He still has some room on his frame to add a little bit of weight to help him bulk up for that role.
With this commitment, Georgia Tech is sitting at five commitments.
