To briefly recap, in the first National Signing Period, the Yellow Jackets got Letters of Intent from almost everyone committed at the time, with the exception of C’Bo Flemister. The big prize from that early period was the flipping and signing of QB/ATH James Graham.
The Yellow Jackets started to put the bow on this year’s recruiting class earlier this week, adding the commitment of Rome DL JaQuon Griffin, a former LSU commit.
What should fans expect today?
As it stands, Georgia Tech currently has one spot available, though the shakiness of C’Bo Flemister’s commitment (he took OVs to both Tennessee and Notre Dame after committing to Tech and opting not to sign during the early signing period) means that the Yellow Jackets will likely add two players: ideally a replacement back for C’Bo and another athlete. One such player that could be the replacement back is Parkview running back Christian Malloy, who tweeted that he received an offer from Georgia Tech on Feb. 2.

As for the other player, it could be a few different guys, but one guy I’d say to keep an eye on is Lakeland, FL DE Jordan Domineck. Domineck was reported by Rivals and 247, via his profile page on each site, to have visited Georgia Tech this last weekend, and also reportedly decommitted from USF as of yesterday.
The Yellow Jackets have also shown some interest in grad transfers, most notably former Rice safety J.T. Ibe. There is more flexibility with his commitment, as he does not have to worry about sending in a letter of intent, so Ibe’s recruitment may extend past today and into Spring practice.
In terms of other grad transfers, I would say also keep an eye on any kickers. It’s no secret that Tech’s kicking game last season was less than fantastic. Adding a grad transfer at that position would definitely be a great way to give the kickers we have more time to learn the college game, at least for Brenton King.
Be sure to check back in throughout the day as we keep you updated as things start to happen!
