Georgia Tech Football: Ole Miss OT Jack DeFoor Transfers to Tech

The Yellow Jackets add a nice offensive line prospect.

Just a day after UGA blew a 20-7 lead in the National Championship Game, Georgia Tech made some news of its own, adding offensive line transfer Jack DeFoor from Ole Miss.

As Kelly Quinlan mentions in the tweet above, DeFoor will have three full years to play here after having to sit this upcoming year.

DeFoor will likely slot into one of the offensive tackle positions at 6-5, 302 pounds. Originally from Calhoun, Ga., DeFoor was recruited by Tech before committing to the Rebels. Also of note is that his recruiter was none other than Andy McCollum, and let’s just say he knows a little bit about recruiting.

Rivals (5.6) and 247Sports (0.8575) both had DeFoor rated as a three-star recruit.

Watching DeFoor’s senior film, he does a good job of getting to the second level and blocking linebackers, which will be very important as he transitions to the Yellow Jackets. If nothing else, DeFoor brings another option (pun fully intended) to what was a very weak position group this past season. You can view Red Cup Rebellion’s analysis on DeFoor’s original commitment here.

Welcome to the Flats Jack!
