Recruits On The Field- Performances From the Weekend 9/7

New, 6 comments

An update on how some of our 2016 commits are doing on the field.

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

College football season has kicked off, HS season is now a few weeks in, and our recruits are continuing to perform at a high level as they head towards the end of their HS football careers.Without further ado, let's get to it!

Jakob Brashear

Jakob, playing OLB for Dacula HS, had a big game this past weekend vs. long-time rival Mill Creek. Brashear played on both sides of the ball once again, but his team came up short, losing 34-7 to Mill Creek. This Friday, Brashear and Dacula host Berkmar.

Parker Braun

Braun and Hallsville played against a tough Nacogdoches team this past Friday, and were victorious, but not until they played their second consecutive overtime game. Braun and Hallsville look to grow on their impressive performance so far this season when they play at home for the first time this season, against Athens (not that athens) HS.

Emanuel Bridges

Ah, the Georgia Tech University Kid. Kidding, this kid has enough talent to more than make up for that! Playing for Newnan HS, he was all over the field on Friday night, and Newnan gave Marietta no chance in this one, winning 27-7. Next week's matchup on the road against Sandy Creek is one that has me wishing I could take a road trip to Tyrone to see these two heavyweights go at it. If anyone needs something to do this Friday, head to Sandy Creek.

Jarett Cole

Cole had another impressive game for Norcross. The Blue Devils are now 3-0, and this past week beat Milton HS 14-3. Cole had a chase-down forced fumble (WE KNOW HOW EXCITING THOSE ARE) and several tackles. Cole and the rest of his Norcross teammates will look to continue their hot start to the season when they face Mountain View HS at home this Friday.

Chris Martin

Martin plays for Grayson HS, and at Defensive End he was able to help shut down the Langston Hughes this past Friday night, winning 56-21. In what looks like a weekend full of must-see HS football matchups in the state of Georgia, Grayson will face Archer at home this Friday night, a game full of D1 level prospects, and elite teams.

Dedrick Mills

Mills was able to enjoy a bye week before facing Coffee HS this Friday on the road. He may have needed the rest after his three touchdowns in his last game!

As you see again this week, the future here in Atlanta is very bright. If Tech is able to play the way they did this past Thursday against Alcorn State, this recruiting class could gain some ground on some very impressive targets. Those targets will be identified and discussed in detail in Wednesday's weekly recruiting update.
