After many thought they added commit number five a couple of weeks ago in Garrett Rigby, the month of June has turned out to still be a good one for Coach Paul Johnson and Tech's recruiting efforts. Entering the Jackets class is our first OL of the class, Trysten Hill.
Hill is an impressive recruit who currently plays for Suwannee HS in Live Oak, FL. He currently plays both on the offensive and defensive line in high school, however I am almost positive he will be playing offensive line when he gets to Bobby Dodd in 2016.
While his frame still has room to grow, he currently checks in at 6-foot-2 and 298 pounds, according to his Rivals profile. He is flying way under the radar at the moment, as he is currently unrated by both 247Sports and Rivals. That changed in a big way when Georgia Tech sent him an offer, his first from a Power 5 School. He had other reported offers from UT-Martin, Marshall, Florida International, and Georgia State to name a few.
After watching the film, it is clear that he has a future on this roster. From the first snap he has a really good first step, full of explosion. He seems to have natural instincts when it comes to hand placement and use. He should be able to translate the way he blocks currently as an OG in HS to being a good cut blocking guard for this team. I am intrigued to follow his recruitment throughout the summer, as more offers are definitely on the way for this Florida offensive lineman.
June may almost be over, but expect Tech to continue to add to their 2016 class throughout the summer month, still riding on the TWO SEC wins to end the 2014-15 season.
