This weekend, Georgia Tech is hosting a number of football recruits for one of a few summer camps, which provide coaches a good chance to get an up-close look at players for their own evaluations. As all that is happening, scholarship offers are being handed out, and significant recruiting is happening as well.
After the Thursday commitment of RB Ohmari Jarrett, the Yellow Jackets got commitment #5 late on Saturday afternoon from Louisiana QB/ATH Christian Campbell.

Campbell is rated a high 3-star (5.7) athlete by Rivals, and commits over offers from Arizona State, Southern Miss, and Louisiana Tech, though he recently also camped at Mississippi State and has reportedly been hearing from LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma State as well. His junior film (found on his Hudl page) is promising. As a QB, his passing abilities are average, but he's very fast with good field vision and quickness. It should also be noted that while he doesn't seek out contact in the vein of a physical runner, he also doesn't shy away from it. He seems like a really good fit for our offense, with the ability to play other positions at a high level if QB doesn't work out.
Hot the heels of Campbell's commitment, Georgia Tech got a commitment from DE Trent Sellers, out of Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, GA.
I feel blessed to say that I just committed to playing my college football at Georgia Tech #GT #collegefootball #D1Bound

Very little information is currently available on the recruitment of Sellers, but that he received an offer at this point in the process after the coaches watched him from up close gives me confidence in his abilities. His junior film (found on his Hudl page) makes him look like a SDE to me, with decent pass-rushing speed but plenty of strength and reliability in tackling.
The weekend has been good to Georgia Tech so far, with three commitments since Thursday afternoon. There are still chances that one or two more could be added on Sunday. Stay tuned to FTRS for further updates!
Excited by these two commitments? Like what you see on their film?
