For the first time since 2018, Georgia Tech is going bowling! Since it has been a while, I wanted to take the opportunity to review the ACC’s bowl tie-ins and let folks submit their predictions/desires for Georgia Tech’s bowl game.

The second website I listed included the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl as a second-tier bowl for the ACC, but it is not listed on the ACC’s website, so I left it off this list. All bowl names were pulled from the ACC’s website. theACC.com; CollegeFootballNews.com

There is no longer a pecking order to ACC bowl tie-ins. It used to be that if you finished in a certain place in the ACC, you went to a certain bowl. Now, the only placement that comes with a specific tie-in is the Orange Bowl, which of course takes the ACC Champions if they aren’t in the College Football Playoff.

Instead, the bowl tie-ins are split up into tiers, and teams are sorted based on match-ups that will potentially generate the most interest.

Now, let’s take a look at some current projections.

What is your ideal bowl placement for Georgia Tech, and where do you think Georgia Tech ends up? Who will they play in the bowl game?

Ben: My preference would be for Tech to end up in the Mayo Bowl or the Gator Bowl because those are both pretty easy driving distance for me. I would also love to see Tech in the Pop-Tarts Bowl simply because that game seems like it’ll be a fun time. I don’t think any of that will happen, though. I have this sinking feeling that Tech is going to end up in the Pinstripe Bowl with Rutgers. Just give me a bowl game against Auburn, and let’s call it a day.

Carter: The Pop-Tarts® Bowl. Their mascot. It is edible.

We crave the mascot flesh. We salivate at the thought of tasting its sweet, sugary innards. Our stomachs growl pondering what flavor they will be — blueberry? wild berry? ....brown sugar cinnamon? We wonder if it eagerly awaits its fate with the same hunger we do. we crave the mascot flesh. we crave the mascot flesh. we crave the mascot flesh. we crave the mascot flesh. WE CRAVE THE MASCOT FLESH.

So anyway, this is an ACC-Big 12 matchup in Orlando; I think pairing Georgia Tech up with Texas Tech (Techmo Bowl Bowl!) or one of the Kansas schools would be pretty fun. Fingers crossed!

Logan: Put us in the Mayo Bowl against Auburn you cowards! Old rivalry reignited, check. City near enough for both Fan bases to attend, check. Brent Key having Mayo dunked on his head, most likely. I’m biased because I’m in NC, but I just feel like it would make sense.
