Happy gameday everybody! It’s a new day, and hopefully Tech will have a much better game this week. Join us in the comments, and be sure to play nice!
Staff Predictions
Ben: Georgia Tech wins 24-21. This game turns into a dogfight. I think Tech’s defense will play the option better in this game than they did against The Citadel, but I have little confidence that Tech will win this game. I think they will pull it off, though, with a more manageable field goal as time is about to expire. It will absolutely be an incredibly frustrating game to watch.
Carter: Kennesaw State wins 27-24. I’ve heard from many a Tech fan who, post Paul Johnson, has said something along the lines of “I never want to see the option at Georgia Tech ever again”. Considering what happened two years ago when the Citadel visited, it’s hard to blame them. Unfortunately for them, they’ll see it again this Saturday, against a team that runs it better. After the Citadel loss, the excuses of “oh, it’s year one, we’ll be fine” flew, but it’s now year three and this staff appears to have learned nothing in the interim - about how to defend the option or otherwise. The option is triumphant in Atlanta once again. Geoff Collins’ Waffle House hash browns are like his career: toast.
Josh: Kennesaw State wins 24-21. Georgia Tech misses 2 more field goals this game, and loses on a game winning field goal as time expires. :(
Sammy: Georgia Tech wins 35-10.
Jake P: Kennesaw State wins 42-35. I have 0 confidence in Geoff Collins’ ability to coach against the option. Or his ability in general.
Jeff: Georgia Tech wins 38-24. I feel despite last week this is a game Tech should win easily. Kennesaw had some massive running lanes on defense and kick coverage against an NAIA school. That is something this team can actually exploit.
Robert: Georgia Tech wins 45-21.
Austin: Georgia Tech wins 30-24. Offense struggles in the red zone, but Cimaglia puts his kicks through and settles things in the kicking game. A couple of big plays from the running backs show why they’re the backbone of the offense. Defense does enough to slow down the O.B.S. Game isn’t as close as the score indicates.
Stephen: Georgia Tech wins 35-21. I hate it here.
Jake G: Georgia Tech wins 28-24. This one will be a squeaker, which is not what you want to see here.
Andrew: Georgia Tech wins 38-17.
