Rivals reported on Twitter today that defensive end Kelton Dawson was entering his name into the transfer portal.

Dawson originally signed with Georgia Tech as part of the 2017 class out of Stockbridge, but didn’t see much playing time until this season. Appearing in 11 games, he accumulated 26 tackles, three tackles for a loss, one sack and one forced fumble.

Dawson is the eighth player from Georgia Tech to enter his name into the transfer portal, joining Lucas Johnson, Christian Malloy, Jair Hawkins-Anderson, Nazir Burnett, Kendall Young, Gentry Bonds and Ajani Kerr.

Looking at Tech’s depth at defensive end, Tech should be fine here, but it is a little frustrating, as Dawson was a solid player who could play both base and rush end. With Antonneous Clayton being eligible this season and some of the younger guys developing, Tech could have some good defensive ends this season.

Thank you for your time on the Flats, Kelton!
