Georgia Tech Football: Myles Sims Granted Immediate Eligibility

One appeal was granted, while another was denied

Georgia Tech will have one more defensive back eligible to play come tomorrow night, as Georgia Tech announced that Michigan-transfer Myles Sims was granted immediate eligibility to play at Georgia Tech!

Sims will have four years to play at Georgia Tech, so he is classified as a redshirt freshman.

As far as I can tell, the Above the Line Chart hasn’t been updated, so I don’t know for sure that Sims is above the line, but I can’t imagine they would have filed an appeal on the initial waiver decision if they didn’t believe he would be contributing in some fashion this year.

Now, because good news can’t seem to come with bad news, the release also states that Florida-transfer Antonneous Clayton’s appeal was denied, so he will have to sit out this year and then be eligible to play a final season next year.

Congrats Myles!
