Now that the coaching search for Paul Johnson’s replacement is in full force, rumors and news are really starting to fly!
We reported earlier this week that Clemson co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott is an early focus as the replacement. It looks like he will not be the first coach to interview for the job, though.
Chargers’ OC Ken Whisenhunt is interviewing this weekend for the Georgia Tech HC job, per league sources.

Whisenhunt attended Georgia Tech, which would like to hire someone with NFL experience connected to the school, per source.
Ken Whisenhunt will be interviewing for the vacant position, according to Adam Schefter. Personally, I’m not entirely sure how this is going to go, since Stansbury will be busy with his responsibilities with the College Football Playoff Committee.
Whisenhunt is currently the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers and has been pretty successful.
The only other big news to come out of yesterday was the Georgia Tech press conference yesterday, and you can view some of the highlights below:
Also from the AJC: Ken Sugiura is reporting that Elliott and Alabama OL coach Brent Key are believed to have interest in the position.

RamblinRed posted this tweet down in the comments with two other potential candidates.
Two more names I'm hearing for #GeorgiaTech job: #Temple coach Geoff Collins, a former GT assistant who several sources say is pushing for this one; and #UAB coach Bill Clark.
