For players, one of the coolest things about playing in bowl games are the gifts given to them by the bowls’ committees. Gifts for various games this year include trips to gift suites (several bowls), to a “red, inflatable “big-lazy” couch” (Arizona Bowl), an Apple Watch Nike+ (Alamo Bowl), to various clothing with the bowl’s logo on them.
As Georgia Tech’s players head to Jacksonville for the TaxSlayer Bowl, they’ll be rewarded for their participation with the following:
- Fossil watch
- Carry-on bag
- Under Armour sunglasses
- Football
- Custom bobblehead with player’s face, name and uniform number
The combination of memorabilia and practicality is a major plus here, with things that can be worn and something that can be used to carry clothing or other equipment, along with a (presumably) memorabilia-style football and the bobblehead. The bobblehead in particular seems interesting — it can be really cool if done right, or really cheap-looking and embarrassing if done poorly. We’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, but will certainly be looking for a picture.
Thoughts on the gift package the players will be receiving?
