Multiple reports are coming out that it will be finalized later this week that Ron West will be the new assistant offensive line coach at Georgia Tech.
West will join Tech a year following his departure from the University of North Carolina, where he was the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.
In West, Tech is getting a very diverse and experienced coach. He's coached the offensive line, the defensive line, linebackers and special teams in his 35-year career. He has also served as an offensive and defensive coordinator.
In Ken Sugiura's report on the story, CPJ was reached via text and "could not confirm nor deny the reports." If the story holds true, we will find out later this week when the hire gets finalized.
According to Sugiura, West's primary job will be to help with pass protection, something that CPJ said was at the top of his list of priorities.
West has worked previously with linebackers coach Andy McCollum, while the two were at Baylor from 1993-96. Kelly Quinlan was the first with the report earlier last week.
