Now that times and TV slots for the upcoming season are starting to be announced, that just means we are that much closer to the season finally starting (only just over 100 days left).

Date Opponent Time TV Station
Thursday, Sept. 3 Alcorn St. 7:30 p.m. ACC RSN
Saturday, Sept. 12 Tulane 3:30 p.m. ACC RSN
Saturday, Sept. 19 @ Notre Dame 3:30 p.m. NBC
Thursday, Nov. 12 Virginia Tech 7:30 p.m. ESPN

Tech will start off their season Sept. 3 for a Thursday night match-up against Alcorn State. The idea of a Thursday night match-up against an FCS opponent intrigues me a whole lot. I feel that having it on Thursday night instead of Saturday at noon will bring a better atmosphere to the game, as well as a lot more interest with it being a Thursday night game in Bobby Dodd.

After a week-and-a-half rest, the Yellow Jackets will return to Bobby Dodd to take on Tulane. The game being at 3:30 makes plenty of sense, as does its placement on the ACC regional sports network. It's definitely not set to be a marquee match-up, but it will still be on local TVs for those who won't be at the game.

The next week, the Yellow Jackets will be headed to South Bend to take on the Everett Golson-less Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. With Notre Dame's agreement with NBC, it was a given that this game was going to be on NBC. The only thing I'm unhappy about is the fact that this is a 3:30 game. Looking at the schedule though, there are set to be some pretty good games that day, so I'm not too upset about it.

The final game announced was the annual Battle of the Techs. Why do I feel like this game is always on a Thursday night? I really can't complain, though. I'm actually one of those people who actually likes Thursday night games, mainly because I think it brings a different atmosphere to the game that I personally enjoy.

What do y'all think of the announced TV times and stations?
