Georgia Tech Football: Jackets in the NFL – Week 4

New, 8 comments

Injuries and bye weeks plague the Pro Jackets this week.

Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

Jeremiah "Jerry" Attaochu, OLB, San Diego Chargers (2010-2013)

In a close match with the Cleveland Browns, Jeremiah Attaochu and the San Diego Chargers prevailed 30-27. In doing his part, Attaochu is this week's top Pro Jacket. He finished the game with just three tackles, but he also sacked the Cleveland quarterback twice.

T.J. Barnes, DT, New York Jets (2008-2012)

In the New York Jets' 27-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins (which was followed by Miami Head Coach Joe Philbin's firing), defensive tackle T.J. Barnes had a pass deflection while playing as a reserve.

Mario Butler, CB, Buffalo Bills (2007-2009)

The Buffalo Bills struggled mightily in their 24-10 loss to the New York Giants. As a reserve, Mario Butler was able to get a tackle.

Calvin Johnson, WR, Detroit Lions (2004-2006)

Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions lost 13-10 to the Seattle Seahawks after a questionable call at the end of the game. Going up against the Legion of Boom, Johnson hauled in seven catches for 56 yards.

Michael Johnson, DE, Cincinnati Bengals (2005-2008)

The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Kansas City Chiefs by a final score of 36-21 this last Sunday. Doing his part to help, Michael Johnson finished with four tackles, a pass deflection and a forced fumble.

Daryl Smith, LB, Baltimore Ravens (2000-2003)

In a big rivalry game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night, Daryl Smith and the Baltimore Ravens won by a final score of 23-20. Smith finished the game with 13 tackles and a sack.

Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos (2006-2008)

Demaryius Thomas had another good week as the Denver Broncos beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-20. He finished the game with 9 catches for 93 yards.

Vance Walker, DE, Denver Broncos (2005-2008)

In the Broncos' victory over the Vikings, Vance Walker started at defensive end and had three tackles.

Darren Waller, WR, Baltimore Ravens (2011-2014)

In the Ravens' victory over the Steelers, Darren Waller played and recorded his first career NFL reception. It was a 17-yard catch, hopefully the first of many.

Did Not Play

Stephen Hill, WR for the Carolina Panthers, was placed on the IR prior to the start of the season. And DeAndre Smelter, WR for the San Francisco 49ers, was placed on the Non-Football Injury Reserve prior to the season. Andrew Gardner of the Philadelphia Eagles was placed on the injured reserve after suffering a foot injury in Week 3.

Morgan Burnett sat out all practices this week, again, still recovering from a calf injury. He was listed as probable in the Green Bay Packers' injury report, but he did not play.

Two players also had bye weeks this week: Tennessee Titans OLB Derrick Morgan and New England Patriots OL Shaq Mason.
