Georgia Tech Football: Jackets in the NFL - Week 6

Calvin Johnson had himself a day!

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, San Diego Chargers (2010-2013)

Jeremiah Attaochu had a strong game for the San Diego Chargers in their loss to the Green Bay Packers 27-20. Attaochu collected three tackles, with two of those being sacks. I couldn't find a video, but I did find this picture of one of them: Link. Aaron Rodgers doesn't look too thrilled right there.

T.J. Barnes, DT, New York Jets (2008-2012)

TJ Barnes played in relief at nose tackle for the New York Jets in their 34-20 victory over the Washington Redskins. Barnes had a tackle.

Mario Butler, CB, Buffalo Bills (2007-2009)

Mario Butler played in relief at corner for the Buffalo Bills in their 34-21 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Butler did not record any stats.

Calvin Johnson, WR, Detroit Lions (2004-2006)

After having a slow start to the season, Calvin Johnson finally blew up in this game. In the 37-34 overtime victory for the Lions over the Chicago Bears, Johnson caught six passes for 166 yards (27.67 yards per reception) and caught the go-ahead touchdown before the Bears tied it back up to go into overtime.

Michael Johnson, DE, Cincinnati Bengals (2005-2008)

Michael Johnson started at defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals in their 34-21 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Johnson recorded four tackles.

Shaquille Mason, OG, New England Patriots (2011-2014)

Shaq Mason got another start this week as the New England Patriots beat the Indianapolis Colts 34-27. I watched part of this game, and there was one thing that absolutely baffled me. It was a fourth down play and the Patriots had Mason lined up at fullback. You would think, yeah, let's hand it off to 250-pound LaGarrette Blount to run behind Mason for the first down. Nope (just Chuck Testa). Instead, the Patriots ran a quarterback sneak. Predictably, it was stuffed.

Derrick Morgan, OLB, Tennessee Titans (2007-2009)

Derrick Morgan and the Tennessee Titans took on and lost to what seems to be a rejuvenated Miami Dolphins team 38-10. Morgan had a solid game with four tackles.

Daryl Smith, LB, Baltimore Ravens (2000-2003)

Daryl Smith had another good game as the Baltimore Ravens took on the San Francisco 49ers. In the 25-20 loss, Smith had nine tackles and a sack.

Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos (2006-2008)

Demaryius Thomas had yet another fantastic game as the Denver Broncos beat the Cleveland Browns 26-23. Thomas finished the game with 10 catches for 111 yards.

Vance Walker, DE, Denver Broncos (2005-2008)

In the Broncos' victory, Vance Walker started at defensive end and had five tackles.

Did Not Play

Stephen Hill, WR for the Carolina Panthers, was placed on the IR prior to the start of the season. And DeAndre Smelter, WR for the San Francisco 49ers, was placed on the Non-Football Injury Reserve prior to the season. Andrew Gardner of the Philadelphia Eagles was placed on the injured reserve after suffering a foot injury in Week 3.

Morgan Burnett sat out again this week with this lingering calf injury. He did not practice all week. The Packers, however, went on to win against the San Diego Chargers 27-20.

Darren Waller sat out during practice all week as well, but his injury was a concussion suffered in the last game.
