Saturday is Georgia Tech Fan Day!

Saturday is the one day per year that you can ask for autographs from players and coaches, and they aren't allowed to say no.

Saturday is Fan Day, wherein fans have the opportunity to head to Bobby Dodd Stadium and walk the field, mingling with players and coaches, getting autographs, and getting themselves mentally prepared for the imminent football season. I went for the first time last year, and it was an absolute blast. If you have a couple hours this afternoon and the means to get there, I'd highly recommend making the pilgrimage down to the Flats to enjoy all of the festivities. Everything kicks up around 3pm on the field, where the coaches and players will be joined by Big Buzz, the Ramblin' Reck, the cheerleaders & dancers, and more!

If you go, be sure to take a camera so that you can get pictures. Don't forget to stop by and get one with Coach Johnson -- bonus points if you bark at him before the picture and the snapshot shows him putting a nice right hook into your jaw. (But don't worry, you're a fan -- you'd be honored if CPJ were to punch you. Not to mention it'd make for an awesome picture.) Also, in case you were wondering, this is the one case where it's not weird for a mid-30s guy to go up to cheerleaders by himself and ask for a picture...so ask away!

Let us know in the comments if you're going to Fan Day! Also, be sure to post any pictures you might take at the event. Go Jackets! Happy Fan Day!
