Countdown to kickoff: 47 Days....

Game Situation: 7-7 tie, USC 32-yard line, 4th and 3, 13:20 left in the 3rd Quarter

The Play: USC punts into the stiff wind to return man Jamal Golden. The punt gets caught up in the wind and falls short, with Golden catching it on a bounce near midfield. Golden quickly accelerated and dodged about 4 of USC's coverage men before being off to the races down the right sideline. Golden was brought down by the punter just INCHES short of the goal line. A score would have been his third return touchdown of the season after taking two kickoffs to the house earlier in the season.

The Aftermath: On Tech's second play of the second half, Tevin Washington got his number called on a QB sneak to score a touchdown from inside the 1-yard line. The extra point gave Tech a 14-7 lead that wouldn't be relinquished, as the team went on to win 21-7 for its first bowl game win since the 2004 Champs Sports Bowl.
