This is going to be a late one folks. This nationally televised bout against #21 ranked Pitt will take place at McCamish Pavilion at 9pm EST. It can be seen on ESPNU as well as heard on IMG Sports Radio, WYAY 106.7.
The Jackets are currently 10-6 (1-2 ACC) and have an 8-1 home record this season. They have been able to out-rebound their opponents in 14 out of their past 15 games and are boasting a 70.5 PPG this season (an all-time high for Gregory at Tech). The Jackets have had to get significant contributions from Kammeon Holsey and Jason Morris in the starting lineup, as well as help from Quinton Stephens and Chris Bolden off the bench due to injuries from both Travis Jorgenson and Robert Carter Jr. earlier this season.
On the other hand, Pitt enters Atlanta with a 15-1 (3-0 ACC) record and have been very strong so far this season. They have handedly defeated each of their three ACC opponents already (NC State, Maryland, and Wake Forest). Pitt recently had their own season ending injury to deal with, as Durand Johnson requires reconstructive surgery on his ACL and meniscus. Johnson was a strong 6th man for the Panthers and will be missed. This team is led by Lamar Patterson, who just recently added a second ACC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award to his belt. He has averaged 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game, shooting 62.1% from the field and 55.6% from behind the arc. He will need to be limited if the Jackets hope to come away victorious.
Alright Jacket fans... Can Gregory finally get his first back to back ACC win tonight? What do you think the Jackets need to do well to win tonight? Where will you be watching the game?
