Georgia Tech Target Demetris Robertson commits to Cal

106

In a bit of an unexpected twist, 5* Demetris Robertson committed to Cal today from the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. After all signs pointed to uga for several weeks, Georgia Tech fans will be relieved to know that the Jackets will likely not have to play against Robertson during his college career. Throughout the process, Robertson expressed his desire study Civil Engineering, and he committed to the number 1 program in the nation for that course of study. It's hard to get upset at a recruit who sticks to his word like Robertson. We wish Demetris the best of luck!

As the title suggests, a campaign to "Fill Bobby Dodd Stadium" for the Georgia Tech spring game this Saturday has popped up on social media over the last couple of days. What's interesting is that the campaign appears to be totally organic -- there has been no official acknowledgement or endorsement of it from any official GT Athletics social media account. Georgia Tech's football, golf, men's swimming and diving, and volleyball teams were recognized this week for being in the top 10 percent nationally in APR. The recognition for the football team is the third under Paul Johnson (all in the last four years), while the golf team has received the recognition in each of the 11 years of the NCAA's APR program.

Congrats to all of the student-athletes involved for their classroom success!

Georgia Tech football has a team motto for this year

After a team meeting, it was suggested that the Jackets come up with a mantra to rally behind. The motto 'Put In' will be this year's team slogan, as the Jackets prepare for the upcoming season and seek to put 2015 behind them. Rising senior safety Corey Griffin explains that "This year, our team slogan is 'Put In'. So that means every day, every rep, give it all you got and put in. We've bought into it."
