Georgia Tech Football: Staff Predictions - Syracuse

Here’s how the FTRS staff thinks the game will go tomorrow!

NCAA Football: Georgia Tech at Virginia Amber Searls-USA TODAY Sports

Benjamin Tankersley

Georgia Tech wins 38-28.

Cuse’s run game will certainly give Tech’s defense a headache, but I don’t think Cuse’s defense will be able to contain Tech’s offense, so the Yellow Jackets outscore and cruise to bowl eligibility for the first time since 2018.

Jack Purdy

Georgia Tech wins 30-27 (OT).

I know I know this should be a take care of business game. We probably should beat them by multiple scores. But, we haven’t seen a normal game against an FBS opponent yet in Bobby Dodd Stadium, regardless the result. Every game has been bizzare and only added to the high variance nature of this team. Could Haynes King throw for 400 yards? Yes totally. Could we allow 300 yards of rushing? Also possible. I just don’t know what to do here, so I’m going with something we haven’t seen yet in 2023, an overtime game won on an Aidan Birr field goal after a Jamal Haynes interception.

Charles Gilley

Georgia Tech wins 34-14.

To my own detriment, I am confident about this game. Mostly because I will be on the sidelines and would love to see Tech reach bowl eligibility in a night game, but confidence nonetheless. Matchup-wise, we have the better guys, and with the motivation of potential postseason play, I think we see our most complete game yet.
