I don’t have much else to say... picks for this week.

Pittsburgh Panthers (-3.5) @ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Logan: Wow... so who saw this being a key matchup in the Coastal? I gotta say, as a GT fan who watches their games each week, I have no idea what to think going into this. The GT defense has really turned around, and the offense looked significantly improved under Sims against UNC. I was not expecting either of those things last week. On Paper Pitt has the better QB and better offense but a worse defense statistically. This will be a close one. I’m obviously taking Tech at home as a fan, but really this match could go either way. GT takes it.

Logan’s pick: GT

#14 Michigan Wolverines @ Wisconsin Badgers (-1)

Logan: Oh man, I don’t want to pick Michigan. Wisconsin has not looked as good as we thought in big games with a caveat. Wisconsin has kept it closer than some of those scores indicate. They had a lead on ND going into the 4th last week and Penn State was close all the way. Michigan looks better on paper, but their best win was against a overrated Washington squad. Eh, sticking with my principles and refusing to pick Michigan. Wisconsin takes it and proves they are better that their record indicates.

Logan’s pick: Wisconsin

#7 Cincinnati Bearcats (-2) @ #9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Logan: How does Notre Dame keep surviving? that game last week was much closer than the score indicated. Notre Dame can’t keep getting this lucky can they? Cincinnati is a good team, but my basis for this pick is Notre Dame finally falls short this week. Cincy takes it.

Logan’s pick: Cincy

#8 Arkansas Razorbacks @ some team in athens... I dunno (-18.5... wait that can’t be right)

Logan: Arkansas, where has this been? Razorbacks coming out of nowhere to prove they are a contender. If they win this matchup this might signal a turning point in the SEC. Think of all the chaos that has already happened this year. This is the potential upset of the year. On the other side, the athens team gets the Razorbacks at home. I don’t know what else they have going for them, Clearly that athens team hasn’t really played anyone based on what we’ve seen the past few weeks. Going up against a Arkansas team that has won some challenging matchups. Gonna take Arkansas over the other guys.

Logan’s pick: Arkansas

Louisville Cardinals @ #24 Wake Forest Demon Deacons (-6.5)

Logan: Its still early in the season, but its so cool to think that this game could decide the winner in the Atlantic. I will fully admit I am a Wake homer, despite having no association with that program. Louisville has looked good on offense in their past few games, but their defense has struggled in containing opponents. Granted the Cardinal opponents had plenty of talent on the offensive side. Wake Forest is statistically better on both sides of the ball, but in college football we know that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. This is weird... If I wasn’t such a fan of Wake Forest I would take Louisville. Louisville has faced tougher opponents and consistently played well enough to stay in, if not win, those games. Louisville might surprise a few people here. Louisville covers but WF gets the win.

Logan’s pick: Louisville covers, Wake Forest wins

Arizona State Sun Devils @ #24 UCLA Bruins (-3.5)

Logan: This is another game that goes against what I want in my heart. UCLA proved last week that they need to be taken seriously by going on the road to beat Stanford. Arizona State lost their one tough road game against BYU. Both teams look pretty good, with Arizona State having the edge on defense and UCLA having the edge on offense. Despite my love for Herm Edwards, I’ll take UCLA in this one.

Logan’s pick: UCLA

#6 Oklahoma Sooners (-10.5) @ Kansas State Wildcats

Logan: Kansas State you let me down last week in a bad way. I’m gonna take y’all again on a sunk cost fallacy (and because I dislike Oklahoma), but y’all better not let me down this time.

Logan’s pick: Wildcats Cover, Oklahoma Wins

Boston College Eagles @ #25 Clemson Tigers (-15.5)

Logan: Blood in the water man. Boston College looks good, Clemson looks like garbage especially on offense. Clemson already lost credit as a contender for the Playoffs, if they lose this week they are completely out of the conversation for the ACC. Strange times we live in. Going with my heart, Eagles at least cover.

Logan’s pick: Boston College covers

#22 Auburn Tigers @ LSU Tigers (-3.5)

Logan: This game is here because I hate myself. I don’t know what to think of either of these teams. They look good one week, then look completely lost the next. Still they find ways to win most of their matchups. Man, I dunno. LSU because they’re at home at night. Death Valley at night is not fun for anyone.

Logan’s pick: LSU

#12 Ole Miss Rebels (or bears? I’m not sure anymore) @ #1 Alabama Crimson Tide (-14.5)

Logan: Normally I would just be like “Yeah, Alabama”, but this year has been weird. Chaos across the board. Alabama didn’t look great against UF, even though they crushed Southern Miss (oh wow, you crushed Southern Miss). Ole Miss has traditionally played Bama very close, even before Lane Kiffin took over. Ole Miss Offense has looked really good. This might be a shootout in the SEC weirdly enough. I don’t know if I take Ole Miss to win, but I’ll take them to cover.

Logan’s pick: Ole Miss Covers
