Supremes 9 - NCAAholes 0. How happy are we? What do you feel will be the impact on GT Sports? - DressHerInWhiteAndGold
Ben: The NCAA managed to do something truly incredible. They united the Supreme Court. Never thought I would see the day.
Logan - It’s about time isn’t it? I think more legislation will need to go through before we can begin to fully understand the impact this will have on college sports at large. I’m more interested in watching how it impacts small colleges with lots of money (Let’s say Liberty as an example), because they could see some surprising growth depending on how much money they are allowed to give players. We might see changes in established programs over the next decade, but I’m not sure I expect a sharp change in recruiting or talent level over the next few years for larger programs. Can’t wait to see how poorly this comment ages.
Jeff - I don’t think it’ll do as much as what the NIL laws will do, but in the grand scheme of things Bama will still be Bama and the middle-tier teams like Tech will remain about the same. The amount of money each school has isn’t changing and all the dirty stuff just won’t be dirty any more.
If Jedi were in Hogwart houses, Obi-Wan would be a Hufflepuff. Change my mind. - Notwima13
Ben: I could definitely see Obi-Wan being a Hufflepuff, but I think Gryffindor would also fit. This is definitely an interesting thing to think about, though! Thinking of other characters, I think Anakin would also be a Hufflepuff. Qui-gon Jinn and Yoda would both be Ravenclaws, though I think Qui-gon could also be a Slytherin. Palpatine is also definitely a Slytherin. I feel like Luke would be a Gryffindor. Leia could honestly be anything but a Hufflepuff, but I’ll say Slytherin. Han? Well, I think he would be a Muggle.
Logan - I never really bought into all the Hogwarts house stuff. I just don’t see how you can categorize people around what magic house they would be in. Now if you had asked me which Chaos God Obi-Wan would serve in Warhammer 40K, I would tell you he would serve Slaanesh because he is a sex god according to the memes I’ve seen.
Jeff - Well, if the big bad wolf was a wizard he would be in Hufflepuff and Obi-Wan would not jive with him.
Jake - I feel like I have a default Gryffindor bias and that’s hard to overcome. Maybe that’s main character syndrome or something.
Are there any injuries from last year we should keep our eye on during summer practices? - SullyGT
Jeff - Off the top of my head I can’t recall one specifically but I do remember Gibbs missing here and there. Clayton also came in with a lot of hype before another leg injury slowed him down.
Favorite playcalls on defense in Madden? - Anuj Bhyravabhotla
Logan - I don’t play Madden anymore, it hasn’t changed much in the past few years. But, because you asked, I googled it and found that the “Most DOMINANT Defense in Madden 21!” is Mike Blitz 0, press defense, global blitz your linebackers (yes they’re already blitzing but this helps the press coverage), then put your middle linebacker in middle third, and move the outside linebackers into a curl flat to their respective sides of the field. What does this do? I HAVE NO IDEA. The internet says this is the best play, and the internet never lies. All this proves that playing Madden has more to do with knowing how the program works than knowing how to play football.
Jeff - There is another defensive play besides Engage Eight?
Jake - Whatever stops Akshay.
Ben Simmons’ Haters (submitted via email)
Logan - I’ve been an Atlanta sports fan for too long to believe that we can have a decent sports team in the city. I’ll still wish them the best; I just know that hope is the first step to pain for an Atlanta sports fan and I’m just not sure I’m ready to be hurt again. I guess my answer has to be no... No se puede.
Jeff - I know, I know, Atlanta fans aren’t supposed to believe but Trae Young is a developing star player and has a decent cast around him. With everyone is sustaining injuries it is about anybody's to win right now. Though Phoenix is really looking good out in the West. I say we beat the Bucks though.
Jake - Honestly, good for them for playing so well that I can’t even try to pull off using Hawks as a shorthand for the Blackhawks anymore in this town. It’s about time. Honestly, it’s just been fun to see team that are interesting and different in the playoffs for once.
Carter: Hawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwks. (They made the playoffs as the 5 seed and are in the conference finals. We are in the “enjoy the ride” part of the season.)
