It’s big news for Yellow Jacket fans today! Tech has two new offensive linemen to add to their class with the commitments of Brandon Best (out of Milton) and Griffin Scroggs (out of Grayson).

Both are interior offensive linemen. Scroggs stands at 6-5, 295 pounds, while Best comes in at 6-4, 293 pounds, so they should both add some beef to the interior offensive line.
Best is rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals (5.7) and is unrated by the 247 Sports Composite. He committed to Georgia Tech over other reported offers from Kansas State and Virginia Tech, among a number of smaller FCS or lower-level schools.
Best does not have great length at tackle, like he is shown playing in his highlights, which means he is probably destined to move in to either guard or center. But the man can play. He does a good job on his feet and doesn’t carry much bad weight. For an offensive lineman, he shows off some pretty good athleticism.
Scroggs is rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals (5.5) and is unrated on the 247 Sports Composite scale. Despite being lower rated, Scroggs’ offer sheet is a little bit more impressive, committing to Tech over other reported offers from Iowa State, Kansas, Minnesota, and some school named georgia.
I don’t know how well Scroggs will fit in at Tech. As you all know, Atlanta is a Waffle House city, and this man doesn’t like anything but PANCAKES! I’m sorry, I had to do this. I was contractually obligated to do it.
Watching his film, though, that is what stands out. He pancakes most of the guys he’s up against in his film, which is definitely a good quality, but can also have some potential to go downhill, as he will be a bit more prone to holding calls. As long as he stays smart with his hands, though, I like this addition!
