The honors and recognition continue to come in for Yellow Jacket freshman Kevin Parada. The Pasadena, California native and true freshman was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Southeast Region Second Team. The announcement came yesterday. Just last week Parada received all-American honors from Collegiate Baseball. As the article mentions, Parada is the first freshman to lead the Yellow Jackets in hitting since Matt Murton did the same in 2001. Parada finished in the top-20 of the ACC with a .318 batting average on a season that included 51 starts. Congratulations to him on this well-deserved recognition.

What a season it was for Moses Wright and Jose Alvarado and the entire Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men’s basketball team. During the offseason there has been much speculation regarding Wright’s and Alvarado’s prospects heading into the NBA draft. As the article points out, both players are seen as potential second round picks by NBA consultant Ryan Blake. Both players have certainly drawn interest from multiple NBA teams. Wright will be attending the NBA draft combine that starts Monday, and Alvarado will be attending the G League pre-combine camp that starts this weekend. Whether they are drafted or undrafted players, it seems clear that both players are ready for the next level of play.

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced yesterday that the 2022 ACC Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships will be hosted by Georgia Tech. The event will take place between February 15-19. In addition to this, Tech will also be hosting the 2022 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships that will take place from March 23-26.

The Georgia Tech golf team earned a position in the top-25 final rankings of both collegiate golf polls. The Yellow Jackets ranked No. 25 by Golfstat, and No. 24 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Index. As the article states, this is the 20th time in the past 21 years that the team has finished in the top 25. Congratulations to the Yellow Jackets golf team on another successful season.
