The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team fell to the North Carolina State Wolfpack in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament. The final score was 8-1. For the most part, the Yellow Jackets offense was non-existent. In a way, it’s understandable given the nature of the team’s journey to that stage of the tournament. They faced a tough game against Louisville that went into extra innings. And their game against N.C. State was their third game in four days. So the loss, while disappointing, was not entirely a surprise. The Yellow Jackets can now focus on their future. Today is the The ESPN Selection Show where the team will learn which NCAA Regional it will be heading to.
Any Georgia Tech fan would have to largely agree with this article — 2020-21 was one the best years for the school’s athletic programs in a long time. Whether it was the men’s and women’s basketball teams appearances in the NCAA Tournament, the baseball team’s current success this year, or even the success of Tech golfers, the school has been in the news for positive reasons in 2020 and 2021. Hopefully that streak continues as the baseball team preps for the postseason.
After the first round of the Men’s Division I Golf Championship was in the books, Georgia Tech ended the day tied for 17th. They are the 22-nd seeded team in the tournament that’s taking place at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. The tournament continued through the weekend with today being the final round of stroke play.
It appears Moses Wright has his mind set on the NBA Draft. The article reports Wright’s decision and includes comments by Georgia Tech head coach Josh Pastner. The draft will be in less than two months — it’s held on July 29 of this year. Hopefully everything works out for Wright. He had a memorable season and was named the ACC Player of the Year.
