Congratulations to Georgia Tech legend Chris Bosh on being elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The announcement came over the weekend. He will be one of 16 new members who will be inducted. The enshrining ceremony for the Class of 2021 will take place on September 11th of this year. Bosh becomes the first former Georgia Tech player to ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame. What a way to top of a brilliant career that includes two NBA Championships and an Olympic gold medal.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women’s tennis team came up short in their match against No. 4 UCLA. This was in the doubles matches for the 2021 NCAA Championships round of 16. Ava Hrastar and Gia Cohen represented Tech against Vivian Wolff and Annette Goulak of UCLA. Monika Dedaj and Carol Lee also represented the Yellow Jackets in a match against Abi Altick and Elysia Bolton of UCLA. In the singles match, Tech’s Carol Lee was leading against Vanessa Ong of UCLA before the match was suspended. As the article mentions, Tech will be participating in the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida that takes place May 23-28. Victoria Flores, Cohen, Hrastar and Kenya Jones will be representing Tech.
After winning Friday’s road game against University of Miami, Georgia Tech dropped the two remaining games of the series on Saturday and Sunday. Yesterday’s loss came at a narrow margin, the final score being 5-4. At one point in the game, the Yellow Jackets were up by four runs. With the losses, the 25th ranked Yellow Jackets fell to 25-20 overall and 19-14 in the ACC. Their final four games of the regular season will all be home games, this includes tomorrow’s game against UGA and a three-game series against UNC.. Hopefully, the Yellow Jackets can close out the season with four wins.. #THWG
