As the article mentions, Georgia Tech athletics confirmed yesterday that Bobby Dodd Stadium will be operating at full capacity next season. Along with the Yellow Jackets, the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta United, and the Atlanta Falcons will also return to 100% capacity for their respective stadiums. This is great news for Tech fans and all sports fans in general, really, as this likely indicates a return to normalcy. 2020 was a rough year for sports, and it’s looking more and more like 2021 will be a whole lot better.
The 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Championships are coming up this weekend. The event takes place at Raleigh, North Carolina. It will last from May 13 through May 15. The Georgia Tech track and field will be participating in the event. The article lists some of the Yellow Jackets and their national standings:
- No. 10 Bria Matthews – Women’s Long Jump
- No. 11 Nicole Fegans – Women’s 5K
- No. 22 Bria Matthews – Women’s Triple Jump
- No. 25 Shanty Papakosta – Women’s High Jump
Good luck to them and the rest of the track and field team as they compete in the postseason.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets softball team defeated Syracuse in the first round of the ACC Championship. Blake Neleman pitched a no-hitter to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 6-0 win over the 9th seeded Syracuse team. As the 8th seed, the Yellow Jackets will now move on to face the top-seeded Clemson Tigers. Good luck to them as they look to move on in the tournament.
