Technical Tidbits 5/12: Softball team faces Syracuse in ACC Tournament

Winner moves on to face #1 seed Clemson.

Syndication: Tallahassee Alicia Devine/Tallahassee Democrat

There’s still plenty of softball left with the ACC Championship coming up. The Yellow Jackets are the No. 9 seed and will be facing Syracuse (the No. 8 seed) today at 1:00 PM. The game will be available to watch on the ACC Network. As the article mentions, the ACC Network will carry all of the tournament games leading up to the championship game which will be broadcast on ESPN. The winner of today’s game will face off against Clemson, the No. 1 seed, in the next round. #GoJackets

There was a lot of news this past week related to former Yellow Jackets who are on pro golf tours, but perhaps one of the bigger stories was one related to Tyler Strafaci. Strafaci made his debut as a pro this week participating in the AT&T Byron Nelson. The tournament took place at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. Interestingly enough, Strafaci played along with some other former Yellow Jackets who participated in the event. This included Roberto Castro, Chesson Hadley, Matt Kuchar and Vincent Whaley . That’s quite a nest of former Tech golfers (sorry, I couldn’t resist). In some more news, former Yellow Jacket Larry Mize tied for 29th at the Regions Tradition, that’s his best finish of 2017.

Speaking of former Yellow Jacket golfers, how about this shot by Stewart Cink? If I were taking that shot I’m sure it would make the highlights too — for a pinball game.

In more softball news, congratulations to Yellow Jackets Emma Kauf, Tricia Awald, Cameron Stanford and Breanna Roper. Yesterday they were each named to All-ACC teams.
