Technical Tidbits 4/7: Spring Practice Highlights and More

Football team continues spring practice.

NCAA Football: Georgia Tech at Boston College Paul Rutherford-USA TODAY Sports

Spring practice is in full gear for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team. If you are in the Atlanta area, you can attend the open practices on Saturdays. If not or you’d just like to see some highlights from the press conferences, including player takes, this article has just that for you. In particular the running backs are featured in these videos — this includes Dontae Smith, Jordan Mason, and Jahmyr Gibbs. The annual spring game isn’t too far away. Who is excited for the spring game?

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets golf team had a strong finish in the Calusa Cup. Earlier they had been tied for fourth place after the opening day. By the tournament’s end, the Yellow Jackets would finish as the runner-up. Freshman Christo Lamprecht was among the leaders for the Yellow Jackets. He shot a two-under par 70 — good enough for him to finish tied for third among individuals. Congratulations to the golf team on a strong finish.

This AJC article focuses on Yellow Jacket linebacker Quez Jackson. As the article points out, he’s taking on a new leadership role for the football team. In recognition of his contributions, head coach Geoff Collins gave Jackson a single digit jersey. The linebacker group at Tech has a lot of young players who can look to a leader like Jackson. It’s good that the Yellow Jackets have a player like Jackson to help lead this team.

Nothing else says spring has arrived like the Masters. Yellow Jacket golfer Tyler Strafaci is there for the tournament as the winner of the U.S. Amatuer Championship. Good luck to him in Augusta.
