This is a good article on Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets quarterback Jeff Sims. Sims will be a sophomore this upcoming season and he’s continuing to grow into his role as the team’s signal caller. Offensive coordinator Dave Patenaude is also interviewed for the article and provides his insights into Sims growth and development as a player. The team is only beginning its spring practice, but Sims has been putting in effort to learn the offense and become more comfortable with playing at the collegiate level. It will be interesting to see how he improves next season. While he did have his setbacks, Sims more the most part had several key moments where he displayed his talent and potential to be one of the better quarterbacks in college football.
With the season drawing to an end, the Georgia Tech volleyball team is aiming for its first ACC championship in quite a while (2002 to be exact). As the article mentions, the team still has matches against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Duke Blue Devils — both ACC opponents. There’s a possibility that with sweeps of both matches and a few crucial results from other ACC opponent’s games, the Yellow Jackets could finish first in the ACC. Currently the team is third in the ACC and they’re ranked 23rd nationally.
The Georgia Tech track and field team will be competing in the Florida Relays that will be taking place at James G. Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Florida. As the article mentions, the team will be sending 18 women and 12 men for the event which will take place today and tomorrow. Good luck to them.
Another cancellation. Not sure what the reason was behind it, but the women’s tennis team’s match against Boston College set for this Sunday has been postponed. As the article states, the team’s next match will be today at 4 PM. The Yellow Jackets will be hosting Syracuse at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
