Yup, those kinds of games can sneak up on you. And that’s just what happened to the Yellow Jackets baseball team after its strong showing against N.C. State on the road. They fell 10-1 to Georgia State to open their eight game homestand. Hopefully they learn from their shortcomings and can move on from the loss. They’ll be hosting Louisville for a three-game series that begins tomorrow.

Georgia Tech student athletes continue their exemplary performances off the field (or basketball court in this case) as well as on it. Three players from the women’s basketball team were named to the 2020-21 All-ACC Women’s Basketball Academic Team. Those players are senior Kierra Fletcher, junior Lotta-Maj Lahtinen, and sophomore Nerea Hermosa. Congratulations to them on their hard work and effort as student-athletes at Tech.

The 2021 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships are right around the corner. And four Yellow Jackets have qualified for the event. Nicole Fegans, Andrew Kent, Olivia Moore, and Cameron O’Neal will all be participants in the event which takes place at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The event is being hosted by the University of Arkansas and will take place between March 11 and March 13. ESPN3 will be providing live streaming coverage of the event. Good luck to these Yellow Jackets as they compete in the track & field championships.

There were a lot of reactions to Tech’s big victory over Duke on Tuesday night. This article captures several of the Twitter posts from the flurry of takes ranging from folks like Dick Vitale, Andy Demetra, and other figures in the sporting world. I’m not too sure about the claim in the article that Duke’s win streak was at 10, wasn’t it 14? I do agree that Moses Wright is perhaps the best player in the ACC right now. Give credit where it’s due.

Here’s some video highlights from the Yellow Jackets’ thrilling victory over the Blue Devils. Tomorrow, Tech will travel to North Carolina to take on Wake Forest (perhaps another trap game?) to close out the regular season, and then it’s on to the ACC Tournament!
