The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women’s basketball team is headed to the Sweet 16. After a convincing 73-56 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Yellow Jackets will be playing in the Sweet 16 for only the second time in the history of the program, as the article points out. The Yellow Jackets will face off against the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. They defeated eighth seeded Oregon State 59-42. That game will take place in San Antonio, Texas on either Saturday or Sunday. Congratulations and good luck to the Yellow Jackets as they look to continue their run this tournament season!
Well, it’s Covid-19 health and safety protocols again having an effect on Tech athletics. This time it’s the football team. The Yellow Jackets head coach Geoff Collins explained that because of a “small number of positive Covid-19 tests” there will be a delay to the start of this spring’s football practice. Exactly how small of a number remains to be seen. Hopefully not too many are affected. Once the team is cleared to resume activities they will start their practice, Collins continued.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football head coach Geoff Collins system of awarding single-digit jerseys to the team’s outstanding leaders and teammates has some new players who’ll be donning a single digit player. This article breaks down that list. It’s no surprise Jahmyr Gibbs is one of those players. For the complete list you can check out the team’s roster on its official site. Spring practice is not far off and the annual Spring Game will be coming up soon as well.
