Today the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men’s basketball team will face off against the Duke Blue Devils. This article breaks down how the Blue Devils have been a thorn in the side for the Yellow Jackets. Duke has won 38 of the last 41 games and the current win streak is at 14 as the article points out. For Tech seniors Jose Alvarado and Moses Wright, tonight’s game will be their last chance at beating Duke in the regular season. The night will be a special occasion for seniors like Alvarado and Wright as they and other seniors will receive recognition for their contributions to the program over the years. It would be even more special if they could finish the night with a victory against Duke. A win would also go a long way in dispelling any beliefs that this team isn’t ready or deserving for a chance to be in the NCAA tournament.
Tyler Strafaci had a distinguished career as a Yellow Jacket. One of his many accomplishments include winning the 2020 U.S. Amateur championship. On Monday, Strafaci was officially named as a member of the 2021 American team for the Walker Cup. The announcement was made by the United States Golf Association. This marks the second time in a row and the 10th time overall that a Tech alumnus has been named to the team. Congratulations to Strafaci on this recognition.
It was quite a week for Tech senior basketball player Moses Wright last week. He was busy helping his team in two big wins over Virginia Tech and Syracuse. His play has earned him his second ACC Player of the Week recognition of the season. Congratulations to him for this well deserved recognition.
