Yesterday, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team held its annual pro day. An opportunity for players to show off their skill sets, the pro day can lead to players landing spots on NFL rosters or getting drafted as was the case for at least two former Yellow Jackets last year. This year four players took part in the drills. This includes punter Pressley Harvin III, wide receiver Jalen Camp, defensive back Jaytlin Askew, and wide receiver Josh Blancato. Among some of the notable highlights were Harvin’s throwing arm (passing during a punt formation) and Camp’s strength and speed (benching 225-pounds 30 times and running a 4.43, 40-yard dash). Quite an impressive day for some former Yellow Jackets.
This has been a special season for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets basketball team. In particular for seniors like Jose Alvarado and Moses Wright. As the article mentions, both Alvarado and Wright were named on Tuesday to the all-district teams by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the United States Basketball Writers Association. Congratulations to both of them on a remarkable season.
Georgia Tech’s women’s swimming & diving is heading to Greensboro, North Carolina. They will be taking part in the 2021 NCAA Division I National Championships. The event starts tonight and will last until Saturday. You can catch all of the events live on ESPN3. Good luck to the women’s swimming & diving team!
It looks like there will be no baseball game today. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team was set to host the Georgia Southern Eagles. However, due to weather the game has been postponed (better than because of Covid-19, right?). Anyhow, as the article mentions, no make-up date has been specified. The Yellow Jackets will be on the road for a six-game stretch of ACC Conference games against Wake Forest and Duke before returning back to The Flats. Good luck to them on their road stretch.
