Bonica is rated as a three-star recruit on Rivals (5.6) and unrated on the 247 Sports Composite, but holds a slew of high-profile reported offers, including those from Miami, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and others. Standing at 6-3 to 6-5 and 325 to 350 pounds, Bonica should fit in very nicely at guard.
I think Bonica’s film shows a lot of promise. He lines up at right tackle throughout, and it was his pass-blocking that really stood out to me. Through a lot of his film, he did not appear to be super light on his feet, which being a bigger guy, that makes sense; however, in the plays where he is pass blocking, it’s like a flip of a switch, and he’s much better on his feet. I think another year of development at high school and then getting to work under Brent Key will be really good for him and that he could be a future anchor in Tech’s offensive line.
Welcome to the Flats, Jeffrey!
