After a not-so-short delay because of the B1G tournament final, the NCAA Selection Show aired on CBS, announcing to the world that your ACC Tournament Champions Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will return to the NCAA Tournament seeded in #1 seed Illinois’s region as a #9 seed. Tech will face off against #8 Loyola-Chicago in its first tournament appearance since 2010 at 4pm ET on Friday, March 19th at Butler University’s Hinkle Fieldhouse. Jim Nantz, Bill Raferty, Grant Hill, and Tracy Wolfson will call the game on TBS.
Loyola-Chicago, known for its 2018 run to the Final Four as an 11-seed, won the Missouri Valley Conference double, finishing 16-2 in conference and beating Drake in the MVC tournament final. The Ramblers finished the season with a 24-4 record, ranked 9th in KenPom, 10th in NET, and 18th by the AP.
