Technical Tidbits 2/2: Georgia Tech Football adds 2022 RB Commit

We won’t spend much time on yesterday’s basketball game.

It did not take long for the Georgia Tech Football team to add a class of 2022 commit after WR Jullian Lewis’ decommitment just a couple of weeks ago. Joining the Jackets’ 2022 class is Langston Hughes High’s (GA) Antonio Martin. He is a running back for the Panthers, rushing for 515 yards and 7 touchdowns on 79 carries last season. Martin is a 247Sports four-star (.9059 composite) and is ranked as the no. 26 running back in the 2022 class. Martin brings a good skillset to Atlanta, with an especially great burst. This is a solid early grab for the Jackets, look for them to build off of Martin’s commitment. Welcome to the Flats, Antonio!

The Georgia Tech Men’s Basketball team could not replicate their success from the weekend on Monday. Tech lost to Louisville by 16 in a sloppy performance. The team looked sluggish from the short turnaround and trip after Saturday’s home victory against Florida State. Louisville kept a steady lead, pulling away in the second half. Michael Devoe had 17 points, with Moses Wright putting in 15 and grabbing 16 rebounds. Wright also had 7 blocks on the game, which is reminiscent of last year’s star, James Banks III. Luckily, the Jackets do not have a game until Saturday in Atlanta against Notre Dame (8 p.m. ET, ACCN). This will give Tech some much needed rest.

The Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball team is having a great season under second-year head coach Nell Fortner. The team is currently 9-3 overall (7-2 ACC) and sits at third in the conference, just in front of today’s opponent, Syracuse. Tech faces the Orange at home, with the game tipping off at 7 p.m. ET (ACCNX). A win tonight will be a great boost to the Jackets’ tournament chances. On Thursday, Tech will play the Clemson Tigers, who have had a decent season so far (10-6, 5-6 ACC). This game will also start at 7 p.m. ET (ACCNX).

Today was the start of the football team’s offseason workout program. Happy #Girthmas everyone!

Question of the Day: What do you think of the new running back commit?
