The Georgia Tech men’s basketball game against Boston College has been delayed by one day. The announcement came yesterday when the ACC said the game would be played on Wednesday of next week instead of Tuesday when it was originally scheduled for. In a way, this is a good thing for the Yellow Jackets as they’ll get some additional rest between games, as the article points out. Tip-off is set for 12:00 PM. #GoJackets
As the article states, 30 NCAA Division I men’s basketball players were chosen for the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Midseason Team for Men’s Player of the Year. One of them was Georgia Tech’s own Jose Alvardao. He’s only one of three players from the Atlantic Coast Conference to be chosen. Dennis Scott is the only Yellow Jacket to have won the Naismith Trophy. Three others, as mentioned in the article, were finalists. The other players include Mark Price, Bruce Dalrymple, and Matt Harpring. If Alvarado continues to have the kind of season he’s had so far, he could very well become the fifth Georgia Tech basketball player to be chosen as a finalist. Congratulations to him for this well deserved recognition.
If you haven’t had a chance to listen to Georgia Tech athletic director Todd Stansbury’s latest podcast, or “Toddcast” if you prefer, you can link to it through this article. Stansbury, joined by Andy Demetra, touches on several topics ranging from the upcoming basketball postseason to the 2021 football season that’s months away. Other spring sports are also addressed including the upcoming baseball and softball seasons.
The 2021 Yellow Jacket Invitational will take place this weekend, and,as the article mentions, Tech will be competing against Emmanuel College. The Georgia Tech swimming and diving team will host the event which takes place at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
