Georgia Tech raced out to an impressive start of its 2022 class on Monday evening, picking up the commitment of 4 star running back Antonio Martin Jr. Martin will come to the Flats from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, GA, and he demonstrates the inroads that this GT staff continues to make in the metro Atlanta area.

Martin is the 263rd ranked player nationally in the 247 composite. He’s a four star prospect who checks in as the 26th best RB and the 26th best player in the state of Georgia currently. Coach Choice did an outstanding job reeling in the back who boasts an outstanding reported offer list that includes Alabama, Florida, FSU, Miami, and Penn State. Currently checking in at Martin 5-10 and 195 lbs., Martin shows great burst through the hole and uses his balance and strength to drive piles to the whistle. He gets low and plays physically in crowded space and profiles well as a potential compliment to Jahmyr Gibbs in the backfield.
During the sophomore season that got him onto the national radar, Martin racked up 203 carries for 1535 yards and 16 rushing TDs to go with 17 catches for 143 yards and a touchdown.
In five games during a truncated junior season, he put up 79 carries for 515 yards and 7 TDs.
Georgia Tech has added an offensive centerpiece to its 2022 class, and this could be the start of an exciting period of the upcoming recruiting cycle for GT fans.
