Written Prior to Posting: Pending world series result for standings update... standings will be updated following completion of the series assuming I’m not severely hungover for a day. So keep an eye out for that update to the article (especially if I’m hungover on the day this posts).
Update Prior to posting: Ok, so Braves won. Still a little hungover from an Atlanta team actually winning something. With that Matt J won last week with 9 of 11 picks. Phillip Kaltman still in the overall lead with 56 correct picks. GTAlbatross hot on his tail with 54 on the year.

picks for this week:
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets @ Miami Hurricanes (-10)
Logan: Man, can we have anything nice? Miami, who had looked completely lost going into the past few weeks has suddenly found their footing. Meanwhile GT just doesn’t seem to know where they are on either side of the ball. Only hope we have of winning is if Sims has one of his good games, and the defense (outside of the linebackers) decides they feel like playing ball this week. I’ll say one of those 2 things happen and we at least cover.
Logan’s pick: Jackets cover
Army Black Knights @ Air Force Falcons (-2.5)
Logan: I believe, given Navy’s performance of late, that the winner of this match will be the owner of the Commander and Chief Trophy. I haven’t been able to watch as much of Air Force, but they share similar stats to Army on offense. On Defense Air Force has shown a better ability to stop teams with high powered offenses. This will be a close match. I’m gonna say Army covers, but Air Force wins the game. This one might go to a few overtimes guys.
Logan’s pick: Army Covers, Air Force Wins
#10 Wake Forest Demon Deacons @ North Carolina Tar Heels (-2.5)
Logan: Similar to Miami, UNC has started to find more of a stride the past few weeks. They lost to Notre Dame, but it was a close matchup on the road. Getting Wake at a loud home environment will give them a slight advantage coming in... Too bad for the Heels, Wake is a team of destiny this year. Wake Forest Wins.
Logan’s pick: Wake
#5 Michigan State Spartans (-3) @ Purdue Boiler Makers
Logan: Spoiler maker alert. Purdue has this knack for winning against top opponents. in the AP poll era Purdue had 9 wins against opponents ranked in the top 2 spots of the AP poll. Closest any other teams has is 4 wins. Purdue is known for pulling this big upsets. Luckily for the Spartans, they are ranked number 5 which leaves them outside of the top 2. Michigan State wins this one.
Logan’s pick: Michigan State
#12 Auburn Tigers @ #13 Texas A&M Aggies (-4.5)
Logan: Auburn, your methodologies continue to both confuse and scare me. For all the stuff I’ve said in the past, Auburn seems to be the more consistent team. I’m gonna go with Auburn in this one.
Logan’s pick: Tigers
Texas Longhorns @ Iowa State Cyclones (-6.5)
Logan: Did Logan just put this one here so he could pick against Texas one more time? Maybe? Maybe Texas is still overrated even when they aren’t rated? Iowa State dunks on the Longhorns.
Logan’s pick: Iowa State
Mississippi State Bulldogs @ Arkansas Razorbacks (-5)
Logan: Following a 4-0 start the Razorbacks proceeded to lose 3 straight to SEC opponents. Those opponents were uga, Ole Miss, and Auburn so we can either say that the opponents were to tough for Arkansas or that Arkansas fell back to earth depending on your perspective. I’m gonna ride with the Cowbells to cover on this one. Mississippi state has consistently played their opponents close, I expect a shootout in this one.
Logan’s pick: Mississippi State
Virginia Tech Hokies (-3) @ Boston College Eagles
Logan: This matchup interests me for the comparison. Fuente is still coaching for his job, but GT will be playing BC in the future so I want to see how a Hokies team which dismantled us at home will manage against this BC team which we have yet to face. I do think BC should cover, but this will be a close matchup.
Logan’s pick: BC covers
#23 SMU Mustangs (-5.5) @ Memphis Tigers
Logan: Mustangs lost a close shootout against Houston last week. SMU had been dominant in every game up until playing Houston though. Memphis still puts up good stats week to week, but they can’t seem to find ways to win their matchups. Other than UCF all of Memphis’ losses have been within 1 score. With that in mind I will take Memphis to cover by keeping this close, but SMU definitely wins.
Logan’s pick: Memphis covers, SMU wins
NC State Wolfpack (-3) @ Florida State Seminoles
Logan: I didn’t like the “premier” matchups this week, so instead this is for all the NC State people who still believe the wolfpack control their own destiny. Technically this is true. NC State only has 1 loss in the ACC and if they can keep winning then the matchup next week between NC State and Wake may decide the winner of the Atlantic. But it won’t because NC State is gonna lose to FSU. Why? Because bad things happen to NC State, use their game against Miami 2 weeks ago as a reference point.
Logan’s pick: Seminoles
