In case you’re keeping up with some former Yellow Jacket golfers, I’m including a link to the #ProJacket Golf Report for this week. As the article mentions, four Yellow Jackets participated in the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas. The top performer was Chesson Hadley who finished tied for 27th. Matt Kuchar tied for 35th, Richy Werenski tied for 47th, and Cameron Tringale tied for 56th.
In a non-Tech related question, what do you think of the Atlanta Braves chances in the NLCS? Both San Francisco and Los Angeles would be formidable foes (that series is still undecided at the time of this writing). Speaking of baseball, in case you have an account with Baseball America, here’s an article from them on the Yellow Jackets. With that said, let’s get into today’s Tidbits.
With the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team having a bye week this week, there’s less focus on football this week. After their impressive last-minute victory over Duke last week, the team is now 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the ACC. A bye week couldn’t have come at a better time.
Based on their performance from last week’s game, two Yellow Jackets were named ACC Players of the Week. This includes linebacker Ayinde Eley and safety Juanyeh Thomas. Both had impressive performances last week and it was Thomas’ interception with less than a minute in the game that sealed the victory for the Yellow Jackets. Congratulations to both players on the recognition. You can read more about their stats in the article, but that Thomas interception alone was a sigh of relief that couldn’t have come at a better time.
This is a pretty interesting article regarding Comcast and ESPN and the possibility that they will pick up the ACC Network. It would definitely be a nice addition to have for Tech fans who are Comcast subscribers. One thing I hate more than anything are the blackouts and non-available Tech games that occur every now and then. Having Comcast offering the ACC Network won’t necessarily resolve that issue, but it would be nice to have one more option for watching Tech games.
