This was the best news Yellow Jackets could have hoped for from last night’s Home Depot College Football Awards Show. Pressley Harvin III was named the winner of the 2020 Ray Guy Award. With this win, Harvin can be officially recognized as what Tech fans have always known he was, college football’s top punter. Over and over last season Harvin made punts that would set up Tech’s defense in perfect shape, often pinning their opponent deep in their own territory. As the article mentions, Harvin set Georgia Tech and Atlantic Coast Conference records this past season. Also, Harvin is the second Yellow Jacket punter to win the Ray Guy Award — the last Tech punter to win the award was Durant Brooks. As if the Ray Guy Award wasn’t enough, at last night’s ceremony Harvin also joined Calvin Johnson (2006) and Ken Swilling (1990) as the only Yellow Jackets to be named unanimous first-team all-Americans. Congratulations to Harvin!

After two straight losses, the Yellow Jackets women’s basketball team bounced back with a 67-55 victory over Clemson last night. As the article mentions, four Yellow Jackets scored in double-figures. With that win, Tech is now 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Sunday for a two-game home stand. They will host the Virginia Tech Hokies at McCamish Pavilion. Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM and will be broadcast on the ACC Network. #GoJackets

The Yellow Jackets men’s basketball team’s game against the Pittsburgh Panthers next week has been rescheduled. The game was scheduled for Tuesday, January 12 but will now take place on Wednesday, January 13. Tip-off is set for 8:30 PM. The Yellow Jackets are 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the ACC.

Congratulations to 2020 Ray Guy Award winner Pressley Harvin III!
