For the first time in a while, the Georgia Tech Basketball team completely dominated an ACC opponent from start to finish. Granted, Wake Forest has had some of the worst COVID-19 issues in the NCAA this season, but that should not take away from the performance the Jackets put on. G Jose Alvarado had 25 points, with F Jordan Usher grabbing 8 boards, and F Moses Wright dishing out 5 assists. This was a great game for the Jackets, who look to continue their winning streak Wednesday against Notre Dame (7 p.m. ET, RSN).
Geoff Collins has been hitting the transfer portal hard, with the second transfer in a week announcing their commitment to the Flats. Dalton, GA native, and former Northwestern WR Kyric McGowan is the newcomer. McGowan was a slot receiver for the Wildcats, carving out a role as a dual receiving and rushing threat. The Dalton High School graduate caught 66 passes, gaining 773 yards with 2 touchdowns, and ran 55 times for 352 yards and two touchdowns during his NW career. This is a big add for Collins & co., and should shore up a slot receiver position that lost Ahmarean Brown to South Carolina. Welcome to the Flats, Kyric!
For once, the Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball team was not the heavy underdog against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Unfortunately, the Jackets could not capitalize on their position, and lost a tight game to the Fighting Irish. The game was close throughout, with no team ever gaining a true advantage. Tech took it to the last play of the game, but could not convert after Notre Dame grabbed the lead with 20 seconds to play. G Kierra Fletcher had a great game, scoring 19 points with 7 rebounds. Tech will look to bounce back this Thursday against Clemson, the game begins at 7 p.m. ET on ACCNX.
For those of you planning on attending or watching Tech’s next home basketball game against Pittsburgh, take note. The game time has been moved to 5 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the ACC Network. The game is on a Tuesday, so if you are going have fun in the Atlanta rush-hour traffic.

Former Yellow Jacket Tucker Gleason has announced his transfer destination. Gleason was one of the first commits to Geoff Collins’ first full recruiting class with the Jackets, but did not appear in any games this year. Gleason will join his former high school coach, who is now the QB coach for the Toledo Rockets. Best of luck, Tucker!
Question of the Day: What did you think about the men’s basketball game against Wake Forest last night?
