With the season fast approaching, it’s natural that people are making predictions about how things will turn out by the end of the season. In this poll of ACC media members their outlook for the Yellow Jackets’ season is not too great. They’re picked to end dead last in the 15 team ACC conference. Understandably, Clemson was nearly unanimously chosen to finish first. Notre Dame was chosen as likely to finish second. More interestingly though are the teams like Syracuse or North Carolina State who ranked higher than Tech. Both of those teams are on Tech’s schedule. So if anything, this season could be an opportunity for the Yellow Jackets to prove something to the rest of the ACC.

As the football season is fast approaching, other Tech sports are proceeding with their schedules. The volleyball team last week released its own schedule. It will be an eight game schedule with four home games and four away games. Their season will begin on September, 24th on the road against Miami. #GoJackets

It’s nice to read an article where someone is bullish on the Yellow Jackets’ football team and actually comes out and says it. This article puts forward a pretty good argument as to why Tech might just have a surprise season in 2020. It uses ESPN’s Bill Connelly’s SP+ rankings as part of the argument. The fact that the defense could be the difference maker is something I totally agree with. Hopefully the offense is able to improve just enough. Overall, I believe this team is positioned to surprise a lot of folks who are writing off the Yellow Jackets this season.

This article provides a pretty good summary of the Yellow Jackets NCAA tournament history. Of course, the highlight is probably the national championship game from 2004. That one was a heartbreaker that I’ll never forget, but that was a remarkable season. And the Yellow Jackets have certainly created some great memories on the basketball court.
