The history between Georgia Tech and Syracuse is remarkably short. In 2001 they opened the season at the late Giants Stadium in something called the Kickoff Classic. In 2004 Tech ran over the Orange in the Champs Sports Bowl. That’s pretty much it.
In 2013 Syracuse formally joined the ACC. A previously scheduled non-conference series between them and Georgia Tech was now a conference affair, and the first game was set to be that very year, in Atlanta.
