As COVID-19 has its effects on college sports, the Yellow Jackets men’s basketball team is clear that they want to play this season. As the article states, the players have made it known that they are ready. The season doesn’t begin until November, so a lot can happen (good or bad). Hopefully things improve and the season will go forward as planned. The Yellow Jackets first game is scheduled for November 12th against Mount St. Mary’s.
As this article points out, Georgia Tech’s pass rush was not very stellar last season. Just look at some of the numbers mentioned. If defensive ends and outside linebackers coach Marco Coleman has it his way, the numbers will tell a different story this season. The Yellow Jackets secondary is a talented bunch, so there should be opportunities for the pass rushers to disrupt the quarterback. Hopefully this leads to more sacks and broken up plays. This will be one group worth keeping an eye on for improvements throughout the season.
From the Rumble Seat is taking a look at some of Georgia Tech’s football team’s opponents with the Opponent Previews series. In this edition, the preview sizes up the Syracuse Orange. They had a rough season as that article mentions. And I agree that the Yellow Jackets should be able to pick up a win. We should know in just over a month from now if all goes as planned.
Congratulations to Yellow Jackets golfers Tyler Strafaci and Noah Norton. They both have advanced to the next round of the 120th United States Amateur Championship. The tournament is taking place at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon. It will continue through this weekend with the championship round on Sunday, August 16th. Good luck to both Strafaci and Norton.
