There’s always one sure way to tell that football season is approaching and that is a bunch of talk about the release of the latest version of Madden — EA’s flagship football enterprise. In this particular article the focus is on former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets who are now in the NFL and more specifically their Madden ratings. And as listed in the article here are those ratings:

  • Shaq Mason - Right Guard - Patriots 86
  • Darren Waller - Tight End - Raiders 85
  • Harrison Butker - Kicker - Chiefs 82
  • Jeremiah Attaochu - Outside Linebacker - Broncos 69
  • Chris Milton - Cornerback - Titans 62
  • Tyler Davis - Tight End - Jaguars 61

Not too bad for the veteran players, but I have to admit I was expecting at least a mid to high 80s ranking for Butker.

Georgia Tech’s football team picked up another commitment yesterday. As it turns out it’s another Grayson High player. Linebacker Sebastion Sagar announced his decision which makes him the third player from the school. He joins his teammates Noah Collins and Jamal Haynes in accepting their Tech scholarship offers. That makes it 17 total commitments for head Coach Geof Collins 2021 recruiting class.

Welcome to the Flats!

From the Rumble Seat continues its “Revisited” series with a look back at the 2019 recruiting class. That was head coach Geoff Collins first season as head coach and the class featured one four-star recruit. The incoming 2020 class (Collins’ actual first class) saw an improvement with three four-star recruits. One highlight of the 2019 class was grad transfer Tyler Davis who is now entering his first season in the NFL.
