This is great news as Tech picks up its fifth commitment of the 2021 recruiting class. As the article mentions, Joshua Robinson is a three-star recruit and becomes the highest-rated prospect of the 2021 class so far. At 6’4” and 235 pounds, Robinson is a lengthy defender who should add some speed and quickness to the Yellow Jackets defensive line. This is a solid pick up for Collins and his coaching staff.
This article features a video in which head coach Geoff Collins makes a surprise visit during an 11Alive interview with one of the frontline workers at a local hospital. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to take its toll, it’s important to recognize the effort of those involved in the healthcare industry — classy move by Collins.
This article brought my attention to the ongoing Junior Jackets Story Time series which streams from the official Facebook page of Georgia Tech athletics. In the series, various Yellow Jacket student athletes read a children’s book to school-aged children worldwide. This is a wonderful idea considering the school closures brought on by social distancing efforts. As the article mentions, the videos are archived for those who cannot view it live. And for u[sic]GA students, I’m guessing transfer credit should be applicable.
Here’s an AJC article on the three games that Tech has reportedly added to its non-conference schedule. As mentioned in the article, Yellow Jackets basketball head coach Josh Pastner has emphasized Tech’s need to win more of its non-conference games. Another interesting tidbit from the article is the news of former Tech great and current Fisk University coach Kenny Anderson inquiring about a potential exhibition game versus the Yellow Jackets. That would be interesting.
